Leeds United outcast Giuseppe Bellusci is attracting attention from a number of clubs in Italy, according to The Yorkshire Evening Post.

Giuseppe Bellusci is aware that he has no future at Elland Road and he is actively searching for a move back to his homeland.

The hot-headed centre half spent the entirety of last year out on loan at Serie A side Empoli.

The former Italian under-21 international was expected to sign a permanent deal with Empoli at the end of the season but following their relegation to Serie B, this move was cancelled due to financial restrictions.

As a result, many Leeds fans were worried that the controversial and unpopular defender would return to the club but it appears that he still has interest from other Italian sides.

Sardinia-based side Cagliari Calcio are interested in the 6ft 1in defender after finishing in mid-table in Serie A last season.

They face competition from Bologna, who ended up 15th in the Italian top division last season.

Serie A newcomers Benevento will also rival the Italian duo in an attempt to sign Giuseppe Bellusci.

Bellusci has been given permission by Leeds to remain in Italy so that he can finalise his move away from Elland Road rather than report back for pre-season.

When the 27-year-old leaves, Leeds will be left with just Pontus Jansson and Liam Cooper as the senior centre backs in their ranks.
