Frank Lampard's Derby County have had a good season in the Championship, and a play-off finish is still well in the realms of possibility.

The ex-Chelsea legend has turned to his former club for loan signings, with Fikayo Tomori and Mason Mount being regulars on loan from the Stamford Bridge side, as well as Liverpool loanee Harry Wilson.

If you were ranking Derby players this season, those three would be right up there as some of the star performers for Lampard's men.

Entering the Easter weekend, Derby were 8th, just three points off Bristol City in sixth, with a game in hand on the teams above them.

Derby have been excellent at home in 2019, but their away struggles and inconsistencies have halted their progress.

Going forward into next season, it may well be hard to keep the trio of loanees that have won over the Pride Park faithful, which could leave Derby in a tough place come the summer.

Harry Wilson has been linked with Leeds, while Mount and Tomori may too seek Premier League football next season.

Tomori has gone under the radar compared to the other two, but he has been one of Derby's most consistent performers, forming a solid partnership alongside the experienced Keogh.

He has got valuable minutes under his belt, and unlike previous loan spells, he has been a guaranteed starter, potentially helped by injuries to the likes of Curtis Davies.

Harry Wilson has been one of the best players in the division, scoring many eye-catching goals, as well as overall contribution.

Mason Mount has also caught the eye of many this season, including Gareth Southgate, who is a keen admirer. Both him and Tomori could play a part in the U-21 European Championships this summer.

Whatever happens, all three will feel they are ready for the Premier League next term, and this could leave Derby in a precarious position.

Lampard will try and convince them all to stay, but he could struggle, and may have to look elsewhere. He knew this may happen, and it is testament to Lampard for developing them to this level,  so he will be prepared to look for alternatives.
