As per reports from Greek media outlet SDNA, Olympiacos could be set to reignite their interest in Nottingham Forest midfielder Joao Carvalho.

The Greek side are set to lose star-man Daniel Podence to Wolves, leaving them short of a creative option in midfield, with Carvalho being reportedly eyed up as a potential replacement.

The 22-year-old has made 10 starting appearances in all competitions for Forest this season, and has been in and out of the team under Sabri Lamouchi.

The Portuguese midfielder - who arrived at the City Ground for a club-record fee of £13.2m last summer - has been in and out of form for the Reds, scoring six goals and adding six assists in 61 appearances.

Tiago Silva, meanwhile, is seemingly Lamouchi's preferred option in attacking midfield, so it remains to be seen whether Forest allow Carvalho to leave before the window slams shut in less than two weeks.

SDNA claim: "Developments are underway at Olympiacos, and Daniel Podence’s impending transfer to Wolves paves the way for Joao Carvalho’s acquisition.”

"If the scenario with Carvalho does not progress again, then Olympiacos will look to the market for extravagance."
