The transfer window is set to provide plenty of intriguing stories in the coming months as every side looks to improve their prospects for the new campaign.

Barnsley are no different, of course, with the Tykes looking to get their team ready for a Championship campaign - one that they hope will provide survival at the very least.

They've been given a boost in their chances of doing that, too, with Alan Nixon suggesting that Celtic may not be interested in their defender Liam Lindsay.

After a document involving transfers was leaked from the Bhoys, many have wondered who they might be going for - but Lindsay was not apparently on the list:

A boost for Tykes fans and perhaps a source of frustration for Celtic fans who want to see a new centre-back come in thanks to Dedryck Boyata leaving the club.

The Verdict

Lindsay is a good player and certainly could be a decent signing for the Bhoys if they went after him.

However, it would seem from this development that the Hoops have interest in other players and supporters will just hope the alternatives prove to be better options - if they sign.

Barnsley, meanwhile, will hope no-one else in particularly interested in the player as well this summer.
