Many an eye will be on Leeds United this summer as the Whites look to get themselves some new signings in order to build on their 2018/19 campaign.

The Championship season just gone for them was one where it genuinely looked like they'd be getting back into the Premier League - before eventually falling short.

Plenty of good things came out of the run, though, with the emergence of youth - and quality youth at that - a real silver lining for many to be excited about.

However, with that said, and with the fact that they are not in the Premier League for next season, also comes a sense of foreboding for Whites fans - backed up by Phil Hay's latest update concerning Jack Clarke.

The young winger was a revelation during the season with him making many impactful displays off of the bench - to the extent where it is apparent Tottenham - among others undoubtedly - are keen.

And, as per Hay, a bid from Spurs is potentially on the horizon:

No bid has been lodged as yet which can be taken as a positive, of course, but it is the likelihood that at least one is on the way and that will have Leeds fans worried.

Naturally, they want to see Clarke, and the likes of Jamie Shackleton and Leif Davis among others, to stay put and flourish with their club.

As equally natural, though, is the fact that without getting back into the Premier League, big clubs with big money are going to come calling.

The Whites are not in a financial state where they need to sell up but the fact is Clarke could bring in a very decent sum of money; one that will tempt the club to let him go.

It's the concern of any fan that your best players will leave if you don't realise a certain goal in a season, and it looks as though such a reality may well be on the way, to some extent, to Elland Road.

Fans will hope Leeds will hold firm in this instance and others, but, as ever, money may well do the talking in the end.
