QPR have Mark Warburton in charge for next season and they'll be hoping that he can do the job that they employed him for in the coming weeks and months.

A good manager that knows the league, there is no reason why he cannot be a success there with the work he did at Brentford particularly suggesting he could get them challenging.

He'll be assessing his squad at the moment, then, and it seems as though Paul Smyth could well prove part of his plans for next year.

It's fair to assume this, because Darragh MacAnthony - owner of Peterborough United - has revealed that he was looking to sign him for the Posh, but the R's would not sell:

Of course, if a bigger bid came in for Smyth maybe that would change matters but it does seem as though the R's are wanting to have a look at him this summer.

The Verdict

Smyth is a clever young footballer and could offer a great deal to QPR if Warburton can get it out of him.

The R's have some decent players with plenty of room to grow and that could well be the way they look to progress as a club in the coming seasons.
