Trabzonspor boss Hüseyin Çimşir wants to keep Badou Ndiaye at the club next season, despite reports suggesting the midfielder wasn't wanted.

The Senegal international joined the Turkish side in January, on an initial loan deal until the end of the current campaign, with his long-term future to be sorted in the summer.

And, it had been suggested that the Super Lig leaders didn't want Ndiaye, who would return to Stoke, with Chelsea's Conor Gallagher a target instead.

However, reports from Turkey have today stated that Çimşir intends to keep Ndiaye and the club will now look to negotiate a deal with the Potters, although it doesn't say whether that will be over another temporary switch or a permanent one.

The 29-year-old has made nine appearances since moving to Trabzon and there's every chance the club will be able to offer Champions League football after their brilliant campaign so far.

This is Ndiaye's latest stint in Turkish football, with Stoke signing the player from Osmanlispor and he spent last season on loan at Galatasaray.

The verdict

The next transfer window is going to bring wholesale changes at Stoke, so Michael O'Neill and the club will be desperate for Ndiaye to move on permanently.

He is commanding a big wage and his performances for the Potters since they were relegated suggests he doesn't really want to play in the second tier.

So, you can imagine a deal will get done and a strong end to the season for Trabzonspor, when the campaign resumes, could convince them to bring him in.
