Nottingham Forest winger Gboly Ariyibi saw his loan deal terminated by MK Dons yesterday but already has three League One clubs after his signature, according to the Nottingham Post.

Robbie Neilson cut short the winger's spell with his struggling League One side - although Forest also had an option to recall the wideman - in order to bring in Marcus Tavernier on a temporary basis from promotion chasers Middlesbrough.

Forest's plan remains to send the 23-year-old out on loan to get game time under his belt and there looks to be no shortage of suitors.

Northampton Town, now managed by former Forest coach Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, were hoping to tie up a deal yesterday but were unable to do so, which has given hope to their divisional rivals Oxford United and Shrewsbury Town in pursuit of a deal.

The Verdict

When Ariyibi returned to the City Ground yesterday, it looked like there might be a chance that Karanka had called the winger back to have a look at him.

That's not the case and his development will continue in League One - it just remains to be seen if he will be in a relegation battle or a title fight.
