Marcelo Bielsa was quick to admit that he is satisfied with his Leeds United squad, describing the difficulty of the January transfer window.

Leeds’ meticulous head-coach told the Yorkshire Evening Post: “It will be very difficult to add new players.”

The 63-year-old was then asked if he was happy with the make-up of his squad, with Bielsa admitting he was, but also conceding that he would listen to the opinion of others.

“Yes but it's only my opinion, I’m a member of the club. The club can have a different opinion and I’ll take that into account,” he continued.

There’s every chance that if Leeds are in promotion contention come the New Year, Leeds will encourage Bielsa to bolster his numbers, whether that’s in the loan market or bringing in players permanently.

A HITC report has revealed that Steven Sessegnon is on the radar of a number of promotion-chasing Championship clubs, and although names are not mentioned, Leeds could well be amongst those monitoring his situation.

Here at FLW, we identify THREE reasons why Leeds should target a deal for the Fulham youngster…

Sessegnon can cover a number of positions, which is something that Bielsa likes in a player.

If needed he can cover across the back-four, as well as in midfield.

That could be invaluable to Leeds.

High-profile arrivals can often upset the balance of a squad in January, and whilst Sessegnon is a talent, the 18-year-old wouldn’t be a big ego added to the dressing room.

He wouldn’t demand a place in the starting XI but would be there to cover if Bielsa lost any of his key men.

Moving away from how Leeds would benefit, it is impossible to not talk about how this could help Sessegnon.

Bielsa is a coach that devotes so much time to making players the best they can be, which could be vital in Sessegnon’s development.

The youngster would learn so much at Elland Road and potentially be part of something special.
