Arsenal defender Krystian Bielik is desperate to re-join Birmingham City in the summer, according to Sky Sports reports.

The youngster spent a loan period with the Blues in 2017, and is keen to return to the West Midlands ahead of next season in an attempt to relaunch his career.

The 20-year-old Poland U19 international is set to become a free agent in the summer when his contract with the Gunners expires, and has set his sights on a permanent switch to St Andrew’s under Steve Cotterill.

Bielik has been set to return to the Championship last summer but potential loan moves to Nottingham Forest or Norwich City were hampered by a shoulder injury picked up in pre-season preparations.

The player joined League One Walsall in January on loan until the end of the season.

The Verdict

It appears Steve Cotterill has a ready made transfer waiting for the nod in the summer, and the Blues boss must now decide whether he views Bielik as a worthy addition to his squad.

Fans will appreciate a player who has expressed his desire to play for the club, and Cotterill will run the rule over the player in the coming months as he attempts to impress whilst in League One with the Saddlers.

Just up the M6 from St Andrew’s, Blues scouts are likely to be in attendance at the Bescot Stadium between now and the end of the season.
