Football FanCast's EFL Insider has claimed that Fulham should sign Huddersfield Town midfielder Juninho Bacuna this summer as part of Marco Silva's transfer drive.

The Portuguese boss has already been hard at work with the Craven Cottage club and recently completed the double signing of Harry Wilson and Paulo Gazzaniga from Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur respectively.

And it is likely that the Whites won't be done there in this current window as they chase an immediate return to the top flight after being relegated from the Premier League once again.

Now the EFL insider has stated that the club should look to sign Huddersfield's Bacuna this summer in order to improve their current squad as they said the following:

"He's an industrious midfielder who was one of Huddersfield’s better players last year.

"He's a tackler when needed but gets into good positions also, and helps set up breaks and counters."

Bacuna was in fine form for the Terriers last term as they staved off the threat of relegation down to Sky Bet League One and featured in 43 league games whilst racking up a respectable five goals and four assists.

The midfielder was due to be out of contract this summer until the club took up the option to extend his current deal by a further 12 months.

The Verdict

I think this would be a good signing for Fulham on paper, however at the same time I am not sure if he is really needed at present.

They already have plenty of midfield options at their disposal right now and the addition of another one could complicate matters further for Silva.

Bacuna is sure to have a lot of interest in his services from other clubs this season due to the player being in the final year of his contract and it wouldn't shock me to see him move on for a fee.

However I do think a move to Craven Cottage may well be out of the question on this occasion.
