Bradford City, Salford City and Tranmere Rovers are interested in signing Mansfield Town forward Danny Rose this summer, according to The Sun journalist Phil Cadden.

The 25-year-old signed for the Stags from Bury in 2016, and has since scored 32 goals in over 130 games for the Nottinghamshire outfit.

The forward netted 17 times in 44 games in the 2017/18 campaign, but he fell behind the likes of Tyler Walker and Nicky Ajose last season and was often used as a substitute, finishing the season with five strikes to his name.

Now, with only one year left on his current deal at the One Call Stadium, it is claimed that Salford, Bradford and Tranmere are all keen on signing the former Barnsley forward this summer.

Tranmere, who won promotion to League One last season, have recently lost star-striker James Norwood to Ipswich Town on a free transfer and will be on the lookout for a new forward this summer.

Themselves and Bradford have also been linked with the signing of former Wigan forward James Vaughan, with the Bantams looking to return to League One at the first time of asking next season.

Salford are also believed to be interested in the forward, and having already completed the ambitious signing of Richie Towell from Brighton, you would not put it past the Lancashire club to complete this deal.

The Verdict

I think that Rose would be a perfect signing for each and every single one of these clubs, as he is a proven goalscorer in League Two who is more than capable of doing it in League One.

He wasn't too prolific in front of goal last season, but it would have been hard for him to grab the spotlight given how well Tyler Walker did for the Stags last season.

I would imagine that a move back to Yorkshire with Bradford would be a desirable move for him, but if Salford splash the cash, then you would probably class them as favourites.
