Nottingham Forest could not follow up their cup exploits against Arsnenal in midweek and fell to a defeat against high flying Aston Villa at the City Ground this evening.

The Reds were made to pay for a poor performance overall and it was Villa striker Scott Hogan who got the winning goal, nodding home in the first half to give Steve Bruce’s men the lead they needed to hang on and take a valuable three points.
