Hamilton Academical have confirmed the signing of Mason Bloomfield on loan from Norwich City.

Bloomfield joins the Accies, following former Norwich loan stars such as Remi Matthews and Carlton Morris to the club.

Norwich only signed the 21-year-old in March, when he joined from Dagenham and Redbridge after catching the eye in the National League.

The young striker is now set to continue his development out on loan at Hamilton, who are competing in the Scottish Premiership next term.

Bloomfield has played for a number of non-league clubs so far in his career, carving out a name for himself before earning himself a professional move.

After playing 18 games for the Daggers, Bloomfield signed for Norwich and was expected to team up the club's development squad.

But instead, the 6ft 3in forward is heading out to Accies on loan, where he will be hoping to score plenty of goals and earn a place in Norwich's side for the following season.

The Verdict

Bloomfield is a raw talent at this stage in his career.

The towering centre-forward could really thrive playing regular senior football north of the border and this is a sensible move by Norwich.

Rather than have him bullying defenders in youth team football, this will be a real challenge for the Londoner, playing competitive football at a higher level than the fifth tier of the English game.
