Sheffield United striker Billy Sharp scored an extra-time winner to knock Reading out of the FA Cup after a tight Fifth Round tie last night and many Blades fans have been full of praise for the Royals.
Chris Wilder’s men are having a fantastic season in the Premier League and are eighth in the table after being promoted from the Championship last season.
Their quality showed early on as David McGoldrick gave them an early lead, heading in his first goal of the season.
Reading’s heads didn’t drop, however, and Mark Bowen’s side pulled themselves back level two minutes before half-time.
Andy Rinomhota was pushed over inside the box and George Puscas made no mistake from the penalty spot.
Neither side could find a winner in the second half but Sharp, whose goals fired the Blades from League One to the Premier League, came off the bench to score the decisive goal in extra time.
A heartbreaking late blow for the Royals but certainly a performance that provided a lot of positives.

Probably more of a stumble through tonight but we’ll take it! We seemed a bit of the mark and Reading looked good. But a win is a win!

You didnt deserve that. After the first half you were the better team. While we have got the 🐐 Billy Sharp on the pitch we always have a chance
