Tottenham are finally close to agreeing a deal with Swansea City to sign highly-rated defender Joe Rodon, according to Football Insider.
Rodon has been the subject of interest from Spurs since last Monday’s transfer Deadline Day, although the two club’s haven’t yet been able to complete a deal for the 22-year-old – with the Premier League side falling short of the Swans’ asking-price.
However, the Insider are claiming that Tottenham are now confident that of beating today’s 5pm deadline, and adding the Wales international to their defensive ranks.
Spurs offered a number of fringe players as part of the deal, but the South Wales outfit weren’t interested – with the Londoners now expected to pay around £15-million for Rodon.
Rodon has made 54 appearances for Swansea, with his performances catching the eye of Wales boss Ryan Giggs, who has handed him seven international caps – one of which came against England at Wembley last Thursday.
Swansea are yet to sign a replacement for Rodon, but were close to sorting a deal with Manchester City for the transfer of Joel Latibeaudiere according to BBC Sport.
Did each of these 12 Swansea City players score more or less than 20 goals during their time at the club?
Once this deal is confirmed, it’ll be one of the least surprising transfers on deadline-day.
From the moment Tottenham registered their interest almost 10 days ago, it always looked like being completed. When a club of Spurs’ stature come knocking, it’s almost impossible to turn down, so you can’t blame Rodon in the slightest here.
