Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur are leading the chase for impressive Aston Villa attacker Jack Grealish, according to a report on ESPN.

The report suggests that the 22-year-old has been identified by Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino as a top priority this summer and Villa will naturally welcome any interest given their financial plight.

The Championship outfit will receive a lot of interest in several players this summer but it is Grealish who will likely fetch the most profit, with the club reportedly slapping a £40 million price tag on their prized asset.

Several other Premier League clubs are interested in the 22-year-old but it is Spurs who appear to hold the strongest interest, although the ESPN report does state that they are reluctant to make such a high bid for a player outside the top flight.

Grealish only netted three goals for Villa last season but it is the massive potential that he possesses that will undoubtedly tempt Premier League clubs into pursuing his purchase.

The Verdict

Jack Grealish undoubtedly has great potential and what he needs is a manager who can ensure he fulfills such promise.

Mauricio Pochettino could be just the gaffer to do that and the Aston Villa man would be wise to choose the North Londoners if it does come to a stage where he has a choice to make.

It really is a case of now or never for the 22-year-old and if he does take the plunge to leave Villa Park he needs to ensure that he continues to progress.
