QPR are closing in on a loan deal for Tottenham Hotspur's young talent Jack Clark, with the forward potentially getting a move close to home.

Leeds United journalist Phil Hay has reported that QPR are set to complete a deal for Tottenham Hotspur winger before the weekend, when the R's come up against The Whites at The Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium.

The attacker progressed through the youth ranks at Leeds and made it through to the first team last season, making 25 appearances and scoring two goals as the teenager made a mark on Marcelo Bielsa and the Leeds fans at Elland Road.

His performances persuaded Tottenham to sign the 19-year-old in the summer before loaning him back to Leeds for the season, however Bielsa only used him three times across the first-half of the campaign in all competitions.

QPR look to have beaten off interest from a long list of clubs in the second tier such as Millwal, Derby County, Swansea City, Nottingham Forest and Middlesbrough, as well as the Scottish champions Celtic.

If Mark Warburton and QPR can get the deal done by the weekend, then Clarke could make his debut against boyhood club Leeds.

The Verdict

Clarke has proven before that he has the ability to already perform well in the Championship, and he would be a good addition to Warburton's squad if they manage to get the deal over the line.

He would add pace, energy, directness and creativity to an already strong QPR front-line, and he would be a welcome addition to The Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium.
