Tottenham Hotspur remain interested in signing West Bromwich Albion defender Nathan Ferguson, according to reports from The Sun.

The 19-year-old has been linked with a move to North London since the early stages of the campaign, after establishing himself as a hugely important player under Slaven Bilic.

The young full-back has played on either side of defence for Albion this term, making a total of 15 appearances in all competitions for the Baggies.

After producing a host of impressive displays for Bilic's side this season, Spurs reportedly remain interested in signing Ferguson despite a change in management.

Having been linked with a move to Spurs under Mauricio Pochettino, Jose Mourinho also seems keen on the young defender.

The Sun claim that Spurs sent top scout, Brian Carey, out to watch Ferguson in action on Monday night, as West Brom defeated Preston North End by a goal to nil.

The report also claims that Crystal Palace hold an interest in the defender, whose contract at The Hawthorns expires at the end of the season despite being offered a new deal not too long ago.

West Brom will be hoping to return to the top of the Sky Bet Championship table this afternoon, as they prepare to take on Swansea City in the West Midlands.

The Verdict

You have got to be worried if you are a West Brom fan.

With Spurs still interested in signing the defender, it's quite concerning that there has been no further movement on his new deal.

He is such a young talent who already looks so impressive and mature in defence, and to lose him would be a huge blow indeed.
