Sky Bet Championship side Queens Park Rangers have completed the loan signing of Tottenham Hotspur youngster Luke Amos, the club have now confirmed.

The 22-year-old has come through the ranks at the North London club, and has recently endured impressive loan spells with both Southend United and Stevenage.

The young midfielder made his first-team debut for Mauricio Pochettino's side on the opening day of last season, coming on as a late substitute to replace Eric Dier, in the latter stages of their 2-1 win at Newcastle United.

He failed to make an appearance for the rest of the season, though, after sustaining an anterior cruciate ligament injury in September.

Speaking to QPR's official website, he said: "It has been a tough nine months but I am really excited now - I haven’t wasted a day in that whole time. I feel physically fit and the next step for me is being back in games and that’s something I am looking forward to.

"I feel like I was hungry to succeed before – but now I am absolutely starving! It has been such a tough journey and I want it now more than ever."

The R's have been active in the summer transfer window thus far, with new manager Mark Warburton bringing in Liam Kelly, Lee Wallace and Yoann Barbet from Livingston, Rangers and Brentford respectively.

And now, Warburton has moved to complete his side's fourth signing of the summer, with the young midfielder arriving at Loftus Road on a season-long loan deal.

The Verdict

Amos is another smart signing for QPR, who have made some shrewd additions under Mark Warburton who is working on a limited budget.

Amos really impressed me for Spurs in their academy side the season before last, and more than deserved his chance to step up into the first-team last term.

He will be hungry to get back into the swing of things after such a troubling time with injury, and he will provide competition to an area of the pitch that the R's needed to strengthen.
