Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly interested in signing Brentford forward Marcus Forss according to a report from Eurosport

Forss has caught the eye with a number of impressive showings for the Championship side this season, as they look to challenge for promotion into the Premier League once again.

Brentford are currently sat seventh in the second-tier standings, and will be eager to pick up a positive result when they return to action against Derby County on Wednesday evening.

Forss has struggled for consistent game time with Thomas Frank's side this term, with the Brentford boss often starting Ivan Toney as his lone striker.

But Forss has made an impact from the substitutes bench this season, and has seven goals in his 17 appearances in all competitions this term, which makes for impressive reading.

The Finnish international had previously been attracting interest from German giants Borussia Dortmund, although no formal bid was made for his services.

Spurs are yet to make an offer for Forss either, but are keeping tabs on the forward heading into the January transfer window, which could be an interesting month for Brentford, as they look to keep hold of some key players.

The Verdict:

I'm not sure this would be the best move for him.

Spurs are a club that are playing at a very high standard at the moment, and they could certainly benefit from adding depth to their attacking options in the future.

But I'm not sure Forss would be anywhere near their starting XI at this moment in time, and he'll surely be looking to get regular game time under his belt in the near future instead.

If he's not getting in Brentford's starting XI on a consistent basis, then I'm almost certain he won't be getting that at Spurs if he opted to sign for Jose Mourinho's side.
