The Robins parted company with Mark Cooper after just over two years with the club following their disappointing start to the campaign.

A number of names have been linked with the role and the Tottenham coach was made the favourite with the bookies on Monday, despite him having no previous managerial experience.

The 33-year has spent the majority of his coaching career in youth football and was previously academy manager at Leyton Orient and now Premier League side Bournemouth.

Embleton has previously worked with Swindon first-team coach when he was at Orient and while he admits that he has attended some games recently, he has no interest in the vacant managerial position.

While Embleton is highly-rated as a youth coach and has managed a number of youth sides, he admits that managing a first team is completely different to what he has experienced and even though he does aspire to be a manager one day, he is not interested in the Swindon job.

"(Managing a first team) is something well out of the remit that I have done in terms of my background and the things I have been involved in.

"Being a manager is something that everyone wants to do as a young coach, you have those kind of aspirations but (the Swindon job) is not something I would put my CV in for at the moment."

Swindon are currently second bottom of League One after reaching the play-off final last season after winning just three of their opening 15 league fixtures. They face in-form Wigan on Saturday and it is unlikely that a new manager will be in place for that game.
