European giants Inter Milan have joined the race to sign Fulham star Ryan Sessegnon this summer, according to reports from Italian media outlet Tuttusport,
The 19-year-old stood out for the London club in the 2017/18 campaign where they won promotion to the Premier League, but found it somewhat tough to adapt to life in the top-flight last season, scoring twice and producing six assists.
Following their relegation back down to the Championship, a host of high-profile clubs have been linked with the winger’s signature – Tottenham Hotspur have been long-term admirers of the youngster, and have reportedly held further talks with Fulham regarding a potential move.
But now, it is understood that three-time European Cup winners Inter Milan are interested in signing Sessegnon, who looks destined to depart Craven Cottage this summer.
Sessegnon is currently on international duty with the England under-21 team in Italy, and it is claimed that Inter sent sporting director Piero Ausilio to Cesena on Tuesday night, to try and gain contact with the attacker.
Fulham boss Scott Parker is likely to have a busy summer, with Aleksandar Mitrovic the subject of a big-money bid from Real Betis.
It seems almost inevitable that Sessegnon will leave Fulham this summer, and who can blame him after establishing himself as one of the most talented young players in the country.
I think, if I were Sessegnon, I would want to stay in England and sign for a massive club like Spurs – he has already had a taste of the Premeir League with Fulham, and Pochettino will improve him as a player.
Different scales completely, but look at Josh Maja – he has hardly made an impact for Bordeaux since his move from English side Sunderland in January.
