Tottenham are reportedly eyeing a transfer swoop for Hull City's Jarrod Bowen when the transfer window reopens in January, according to the Hull Daily Mail.

It is understood that Spurs sent scouts to watch Bowen in action against QPR a fortnight ago, when Hull's talisman bagged a brace at the KCOM Stadium, so they would have been hugely impressed with his performance.

According to The Sun, Bowen has also been linked with a move to both Cardiff and Fulham, but they are thought to be well apart in their valuation for Hull's star man.

The previously quoted £5m that Hull were thought to value Bowen at is wide of the mark.

The Tigers are thought to want in the region of £10m for Bowen who has worked his way up through the Hull City academy, to be their main man as they battle to avoid the drop.

He has made played in all 21 league games for Nigel Adkins' side this season, and has six goals and three assists to his name already.

So, this recent interest from Tottenham will come as no surprise, as Bowen certainly has the potential to be playing at a higher level than he currently is.

At the age of 21, it would be a signing for the future for Tottenham and they would hope that he could play a crucial role as they challenge for the Premier League title in future years.

It remains to be seen as to whether Mauricio Pochettino's men will submit an official offer for Bowen, but this is surely not going to be the last we have heard of this one, as we approach the January transfer window.

The Verdict:

This would be a smart bit of business by Spurs as they plan for the future.

Bowen has been the standout player for Hull this season in a disappointing campaign so far for the Tigers, and Nigel Adkins will be desperate to hold onto their talisman.

The reported £10m fee that Hull are wanting is a reasonable price to pay, and Spurs will be hoping that he can justify that hefty price tag if they sign Bowen in January.
