Tottenham Hotspur want Ryan Sessegnon to be one of three marquee summer signings, according to The Daily Mail.

After signing a new deal at Tottenham, Pochettino is eyeing a swoop for Sessegnon with a big summer of spending expected in North London.

Pochettino has recently penned a new lucrative deal with Spurs and he wants assurances that he can spend big this year to take his side to the next level after a number of near misses when competing for the Premier League title, the domestic cups and in Europe.

The Argentine will be looking for a war-chest of £100m and he plans to snap up three highly-rated domestic players with that cash.

Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha and Manchester United's forgotten man Anthony Martial are two of his three main targets, with in-demand teenager Sessegnon being the third.

The 18-year-old has enjoyed a sensational season since moving from left-back to the left-wing under Slavisa Jokanovic at Fulham.

His tally of 16 goals and seven assists has propelled the Cottagers to Wembley, where they face Aston Villa tomorrow for a place in the Premier League.

The England under-21 star is being chased by a number of clubs across Europe, including Barcelona and PSG, as well as the top sides in England after being named as the Championship's Player of the Year.

The Verdict

There is a reason why Gareth Southgate considered selecting Sessegnon for England's World Cup squad despite the fact that he hadn't even turned 18 by the time the squad was announced.

That is because he is probably the most talented young player that England have got.

Sessegnon has pace, skill and a knack of getting in the right place at the right time to net goals.

He would be an ideal long-term replacement for Danny Rose as a left-wing back, or he could even be deployed further forward as a new Gareth Bale.
