Hull City attacker Jarrod Bowen says he is happy to stay at the club beyond the end of this season, despite constant speculation about his future in recent months.

After scoring 22 league goals and providing four assists last season, a number of Premier League clubs, including Tottenham, Arsenal and Newcastle, were linked with a move for Bowen in the summer transfer window.

The 22-year-old however, remained at The KCOM Stadium throughout the course of the close season, and he has already picked up where he left off last year, scoring five goals and providing two assists so far this campaign.

That form will almost inevitably lead to more speculation about Bowen's future when the transfer window reopens, although it seems the attacker is in no rush to move elsewhere, as he told The Hull Daily Mail: “If I leave, I leave, if I don’t, I am loving it here.

“What will be, will be. I have just got to keep my head down, I have got agents that take care of all of that.

“I am playing football so I am not surprised that I didn’t leave. It is out of my hands what happens off the pitch, I have just got to (perform) on the pitch.”

Bowen's current contract with Hull is set to expire at the end of this season, although the Tigers do have the option to extend that deal by a further 12 months, and it seems the attacker would have no qualms about them doing that, as he continued: “It’s their decision, what they do with my contract is entirely up to them.

“Until anything changes, I am here playing my football and my loyalties are here, so I am loving it here.

“I can’t change anything that happens, I have just got to take each day as it comes and focus on myself on and off the pitch and make myself ready for every game that comes up and play to the best of my ability.”

Following their 3-2 defeat to QPR on Saturday - during which Bowen had opened the scoring - Hull are 19th in the Championship table, with three wins and four draws from their opening 12 league games of the season.

The Tigers are next in action when they travel to The City Ground to take on Nottingham Forest on Wednesday night.

The Verdict

What a boost would be for Hull.

Bowen once again looks to be in outstanding form for the Tigers at the start of this season, so you can't say that he has been distracted by any of that summer speculation.

When you consider the impact that he has had for Hull over the past few seasons, it certainly seems as though his continued presence in their side will once again be vital this season, as they look to keep their heads above water this season.

Admittedly, Bowen does not seem to have ruled out a move away by any stretch, and it will be interesting to see if that still tempts some of those top-flight sides to make a move when the window does reopen.
