Tottenham are considering a move for Jarrod Bowen, who continues to shine in the Sky Bet Championship for Hull City this season.

Mauricio Pochettino has been rocked this week by the news that Harry Kane is facing a two-month spell on the sidelines with an ankle injury, depriving Spurs of their main source of goals.

Now, according to the Mirror, Spurs are considering stepping up their interest in Bowen with a £12m bid for the impressive Hull man.

There are a host of Premier League clubs interested in the 22-year-old, but Spurs have been monitoring him closely, sending scouts to watch the attacker on multiple occasions.

So far this season Bowen has made 27 appearances for the Tigers and has played a big role in helping Nigel Adkins’ side pull clear of a relegation scrap.

Bowen has 13 goals and three assists to his name in that time and has been in sparkling form during Hull’s six-match winning streak over the festive period.

In his last five appearances, Bowen has found the net on seven occasions, scoring braces in the victories against Swansea City, Leeds United and Sheffield Wednesday.

The former Hereford man also netted in the 6-0 victory over Bolton Wanderers.

The Verdict

Bowen is in excellent form and is showcasing the type of form that will attract interest from the Premier League big guns.

Of course, he’s a different type of player to Kane, but he’d certainly cushion the blow of losing such an attacking threat.

It’d be a big ask for Bowen to replicate this form in the Premier League, but he’s full of confidence and only going to get better in the coming years.
