Jack Grealish looks set to become a Tottenham player, with a deal for the Aston Villa midfielder likely to be completed in the coming week.

With Villa still facing a difficult financial situation, Grealish is expected to quit Villa Park this summer and return to the Premier League, with Spurs heavily linked with a move for the young Englishman.

According to a report from the Mirror, Grealish’s move from Villa Park to North London will be completed next week, with the 22-year-old leaving his boyhood club.

Spurs are now firmly in talks with Villa over a deal for Grealish, with the two clubs expected to thrash out a deal in the near future.

Grealish came through the ranks at Villa Park and has made 110 appearances in claret and blue at senior level.

Last season, the midfielder was key to Villa’s promotion push, particularly during the second-half of the season, as Steve Bruce’s side finished fourth and reached the play-off final.

Grealish returned three goals and six assists during a run of 30 appearances.

Spurs are expected to offer the young star a lucrative five-year deal to join Mauricio Pochettino’s side.

The Verdict

It has been some time since Grealish was first linked with a move to Spurs, with his departure beginning to look inevitable.

For Villa, getting the right fee is key, as well as completing a deal as soon as possible.

Once this deal is out of the way, Steve Bruce can finally begin putting plans in place for the new season.
