Sheffield Wednesday will head into this summer’s transfer window with a fresh sense of optimism ahead of the 2019/20 campaign.
The Owls have been in great form since the turn of the year and the arrival of Steve Bruce and co and the majority of fans appear to have complete faith in him to turn things around.
He wasted no time in shipping out some old faces too.
Just hours after the final whistle had blown on their final match of the season, the club announced that six players, including Almen Abdi, Gary Hooper, Marco Matias and George Boyd would be leaving the club.
And earlier this week seven players from the under-23s followed suit, but what about incomings?

Well, on Thursday night, Dom Howson of the Sheffield Star reported that the club were close to signing German defender Julian Borner from Arminia Bielefield in the 2. Bundesliga.
Having turned down the chance to extend his contract beyond the end of the current season, he will arrive at Hillsborough as a free agent.
But there is a split in the fanbase over the quality of the move…
Totally underwhelmed. He’s 28. What happened to youth & legs ?

Not a Bruce signing that

Hope it’s a Bruce signing and not some random arsed chuff like Van Aken or Lachman.

From what I have read, This seems like it could be a great signing. Norwich were after him at one stage and we know how good their recruitment has been. #swfc

As long as it's as well as Hector, not instead of…

Note he’s a left footer. Good centre backs with a left peg are highly sought after.

I really hope this is Bruce making the signings. Because that seems an odd one.
