A number of Nottingham Forest supporters have been hailing the performance of young midfielder Tyrese Fornah following the Reds’ 2-1 win at home against Bradford City in the League Cup on Wednesday.

Chris Hughton rang the changes for the Reds as they aimed to make the progression into the next round of the League Cup and also get game time into a few players that did not feature in their opening Championship game at Coventry City.

That meant that talented midfielder Fornah got his chance to come into the side from the start and put down a marker of his quality.

The 21-year-old certainly took that chance with both hands and he delivered a very mature performance where his quality in and out of possession was on full show for the 90 minutes as he helped to control the game.

In total, Fornah had 89 touches of the ball and maintained an impressive 88% passing accuracy, while the 21-year-old was also able to make one key pass, five tackles, two clearances and win ten duels throughout the game.

Those stats prove that Fornah was more than worthy of winning the Man Of The Match award and it would have given Hughton a lot to think about in terms of whether he should be handed more chances to start for them in the coming weeks.

Many Nottingham Forest fans were blown away by his performance against Bradford and there were some who were feeling that he now needs to be given more game time by Hughton.
