Middlesbrough centre-half Dael Fry is reportedly alerting interest from Premier League sides Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea.
As well as Scottish champions Celtic, the Premier League trio are believed to be tracking the highly-rated defender, who has played an integral role in Boro’s defence, that has conceded just eight goals in the league this season.
Here, we discuss whether he’d be a good signing for Chelsea…
It would probably be a waste of time.
Chelsea are hardly famous for bringing through young players so it seems like it would probably be a waste of time.
Fry would be better off staying with Boro as well.
It would be a total waste of everyone’s time, if Dael Fry moved to Chelsea.
They stockpile young players and farm them out on-loan year after year without any prospect of making it to the first team.
He would be better served staying at Middlesbrough if any option to join the Premier League side arises.
Knowing Chelsea’s youth set-up, Fry should steer well clear of a move to Stamford Bridge.
They have the likes of Ethan Ampadu who has only just broke into the first-team, and Fry, at 22 years of age, needs regular game time at this stage of his career.
