This weekend sees Barnsley welcome Accrington Stanley to Oakwell as they look to consolidate their position in League One’s automatic promotion spots.

Daniel Stendel’s side currently sit in second place with 35 games played as they look to make an immediate return to the Championship, but were dealt a blow in the build up to the match.

Midfielder Cameron McGeehan will have to miss the club’s next three matches after being charged with violent conduct by the FA for an incident in their 3-0 win against Southend United.

The Tykes tried to argue that he would have been unable to change direction whilst in mid-air but the FA were having none of it.

McGeehan has been one of the club’s most consistent performers this season, racking up 31 appearances and five goals in the process.

Unsurprisingly, the fans were far from happy with the decision.
