Blackburn Rovers ended their six-game winless run thanks to late goals from Tosin Adarabioyo and John Buckley against Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday.

Blackburn looked set to stretch their winless run to seven games when Jacob Murphy opened the scoring for Wednesday in the 83rd minute.

However goals from Adarabioyo and Buckley in the 88th and 91st minute respectively, earned Rovers a much needed three points.

Before Adarabioyo's looping header levelled the scores Tony Mowbray introduced John Buckley, who appeared to hand Adarabioyo a note from the technical area possibly providing instructions to the team.

Whatever was on the note it clearly worked, as the pair who passed it between each other provided the relief to Mowbray, each scoring in three minutes.

In the aftermath of the victory fans began to speculate on what the note said and was even picked up on Quest's EFL highlights show on Saturday night.

Presenter Colin Murray jokingly suggesting the note simply said: "You score your first senior goal, I'll score mine and we will win 2-1."

On Monday, goalscorer Tosin Adarabioyo took to Twitter to "reveal" what his boss had told him on the note.

It appeared that Mowbray had offered Adarabioyo a Nando's meal on him consisting of a half chicken, garlic bread, chips and a cheesecake, with the boss telling him "score and it's yours big man!"

Some fans were quick to suggest to the defender if he keeps scoring they will also buy him chicken and chips, with one fan demanding Nando's "sort him out" some food.

The Verdict

Adarabioyo's tweet clearly shows he has a funny side to him and the tweet certainly went down very well with Rovers' fans.

Mostly, however it will be a relief Rovers got the victory to end a run which has seem them without one since mid-September.

Rovers travel to Elland Road on Saturday to face a Leeds side who haven't lost on home soil since August.

Mowbray may have to increase his Nando's offer should Adarabioyo pick up from where he left off on Saturday.
