Aston Villa striker Scott Hogan is being linked with a big-money loan move away from Villa Park, with Sheffield United one of the clubs reported to be interested.

The 26-year old hasn't had the best of times with Steve Bruce's side, picking up an early injury which disrupted his move from Brentford in 2017. After slamming home 21 goals in 36 appearances for the Bees, his record has tailed off. He's now scored eight in 37 outings for Villa.

The former Rochdale and Hyde man is still with Bruce, for now, but is seemingly on his way after failing to settle. His last appearance came as a late sub in the play-off final, his last start on the final day of the season away at Millwall.

Villa are looking to recruit too, with Southampton's Shane Long one of the names muted as a possible new face in the next ten days. That is how long until the loan deadline window closes and clubs can no longer bring anyone in at all.

Villa fans are less than impressed with the news, with a selection on Twitter keen to see Hogan stay at the club. Here's a selection of responses from the social media site.
