Tammy Abraham has emerged as a target for RB Leipzig after his excellent form whilst on loan at Aston Villa so far this season.

The 21-year-old, who is contracted to Chelsea, has scored 21 league goals in 29 games for the West Midlands side.

And, according to the Sun, the Bundesliga side are preparing a £20m bid for the player, with a move to Germany favoured by the player ahead of interest from Wolves.

Wanderers tried to sign the twice-capped England international in January but Abraham decided to stay at Villa Park in order to help their promotion push.

However, things haven't really gone to plan since, with Dean Smith's men winning just two league games in 2019.

But, they were victorious against Derby last time out, with Abraham scoring, and that has left them six points behind the play-offs as we approach the final few months of the season.

The former Bristol City marksman has established himself as a fans favourite at Villa but realistically they will have no chance of keeping him unless they win promotion.

The Verdict

This isn't really surprising as Abraham has had an outstanding individual campaign and you would expect plenty of top clubs to be monitoring him.

He is going to find it hard to get in at Chelsea, particularly if Maurizio Sarri remains in charge so a move may benefit his career.

As for Villa, they will just enjoy having the player while they can and they will hope he can continue his excellent strike rate for the remaining 11 games to help their push for the top six.
