Sheffield Wednesday could face further sanctions if they are unable to get their finances in check by March.

In a statement released by the club, owner and chairman Dejphon Chansiri revealed the Championship side could be placed under a second transfer embargo within the space of a year – but stressed they are under no such punishment yet.

Wednesday were under an embargo under the English Football League’s Profitability and Sustainability rules back in April that was only lifted late on in August.

It is yet more damming news at the club that is up for sale after Chansiri decided to put Wednesday on the market after a recent fans’ forum.

This is yet another indictment into the current state of the club, should they fail to get their fiscal house in order within the next eight weeks or so.

After the statement was released late last night, there was plenty of reaction on social media.

With that said, here’s how the Sheffield Wednesday supporters reacted on Twitter to the news of a potential transfer embargo after Chansiri’s club update.
