Swansea City winger Daniel James reportedly wants to go to Leeds United and a deal is now inevitable, according to Stuart James of the Guardian.

The Whites have been strongly linked with the 21-year-old all month with Marcelo Bielsa confessing his interest in the winger and it now looks like a deal will be struck by the 11 pm deadline tonight.

Taking to Twitter, James wrote: "All the makings of another abysmal deadline day ahead for Swansea.

"Dan James is set to sign for Leeds.

"He wants to go & a deal of some description will get agreed."

James only broke into the Swans first team this season but has impressed immensely in that time, scoring twice and assisting four more in a series of dynamic displays.

However, his contract is set to expire in the summer so the South-Wales club look like they are tempted to cash in.

So far, Real Madrid goalkeeper Kiko Casilla is the only new first-team arrival of the winter window, signing a four-and-a-half year deal at Elland Road.

The verdict

This is great news for the Whites.

James is the perfect signing for Marcelo Bielsa's set up, especially with his desire to replace Ezgjan Alioski on the left-side of his attack.

It will allow for Pablo Hernandez to play in the number ten role which both he and his manager desire whilst also leaving Alioski to fill in at left-back.
