‘Top draw,’ ‘Brilliant’ – Many Stoke fans saying the same thing about 19/y-o following Sheffield Wednesday win

Stoke City supporters have been delivering their assessment on the performance of Tyrese Campbell, after the Potters’ dramatic 3-2 win against Sheffield Wednesday.

Michael O’Neill’s side moved out of the Championship’s bottom three, with two goals from substitutes Campbell and Sam Vokes in stoppage time allowing the Potters to come from 2-1 down to secure a remarkable Boxing Day victory.

Campbell came off the bench to make a first appearance for the Potters since O’Neill took charge of the club and the striker offered more mobility and pace in behind than Lee Gregory had done for the opening 73 minutes against Sheffield Wednesday.

The 19-year-old produced an excellent acrobatic finish to level the scores for Stoke in the second minute of stoppage time, which will have served as a reminder to O’Neill of his potential quality in front of goal, with the Northern Irishman so far preferring the likes of Gregory, Vokes, Scott Hogan and Mame Biram Diouf to Campbell over the last few weeks.

That had seen the teenager linked with a potential move to Celtic or Rangers in Scotland, but the striker’s performance from the bench against the Owls could well have given O’Neill much more resolve to keep hold of him in the January transfer window.

Here then, we take a look at what Stole supporters made of Campbell’s performance on social media…
