Reading ran out comfortable 2-0 winners over relegation-threatened Barnsley at the Madejski Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

The Royals came into the game knowing that they needed to pick up three points to pul themselves clear of the bottom-three after a surprise defeat to Wigan Athletic in midweek.

The Royals took the lead on the day through Yakou Meite, who bundled the ball home from close-range after the Tykes failed to clear their lines.

That lead was then doubled after on the hour mark courtesy of a fine individual goal from Romanian striker George Puscas, who beat his man to the ball before curling a shot into the top corner to spark jubilant scenes at the Madejski Stadium.

The goal was Puscas' tenth goal of the season in all competitions, and the Reading supporters will be hoping to see their summer signing build on this impressive showing when they return to action against Sheffield United in the FA Cup on Tuesday.

Plenty of Reading supporters took to social media to praise Puscas for his performance against Barnsley.
