It is an old age and constant argument in football between sets of fans as to who has the best, who has the most loyal, and who has the loudest support.

The argument over who is the loudest is something which is widely open to debate, as everyone will have their own opinion and personal experience of sets of fans.

It can differ as well depending on where you sit in the stadium. At clubs like Sheffield United for example, the Kop end is where most of the singing takes place, far away from any way fans. Similar comparisons can be made at Sheffield Wednesday and other clubs with traditional four stand stadia.

Many away fans come away from games discussing just how quiet the home fans were, and it is something which will continue to linger on in the future.

It is not always the grounds either which have the smallest attendances which are quiet, some smaller grounds are as good as anywhere when it comes to noise, while some modern stadia lose all their atmosphere with their modern dome designs.

So, with this in mind, FLW writer Lee Connor takes a look at FIVE of the quietest sets of HOME fans in the Championship.......

Blackburn Rovers

Ewood Park is not exactly a place where you can feel the best atmosphere in the country, with the ground often half empty and fans having little to cheer about in the last few years.

Attendances are down at around the 15,000 mark nowadays, and gone are the days when Blackburn were a force to be reckoned with in the Premier League.

Much like close neighbours Bolton, Blackburn is a quiet place to visit now for an away fan.

Huddersfield Town

The Terriers, despite being a Yorkshire club where you usually get passion in abundance, are actually pretty quiet during games.

The club only averages 13,000 as of 2015, and they often give away fans large numbers, which leads to the away fans completely drowning out the home support.

It is a shame for Huddersfield, and with such a nice ground, it would be better for the players if a louder atmosphere was generated.

Fulham

Craven Cottage is a lovely little ground, and very old school in appearance. Normally with this you get a set of a passionate home fans who make a lot of noise. This is not the case with the Cottagers.

Again a club with little to cheer these days, it is often deadly quiet during the 90 minutes on a Saturday afternoon.

Even during their time in the Premier League, it was hardly a noise fest, and when you look at other clubs like Crystal Palace, it shows that atmosphere can be generated with the right fans and performances in tow.

Bolton Wanderers

Bolton Wanderers

The Lancashire club is in a sorry state at the moment, with attendances at an all time low since moving to the Macron, formerly the Reebok Stadium.

Bolton averaged only 15,000 last season, and numbers have dropped or remained the same in the majority this season, and they look set to drop into League One for next year.

It may well not be the Trotters fans fault, but the life has been sucked out of some of the club, and that makes for quiet affairs on match days now.

MK Dons

The MK Dons would arguably be top of this if it was done in a list format, as the support and noise generated at Stadium MK is more or less nothing.

Although Karl Robinson has done a decent job and they have a chance of staying up this season, attendances remain low and the stadium itself does not help at all.

Another club who can often be outsold and out sung by away support, MK Dons make this article easily.

Many fans up and down the country rank the stadium as one of the worst places to visit in football, and one of the worst away days you can have.
