The main debate when it comes to support in this division circulates around away attendances in which Middlesbrough, Leeds and Wednesday rule the roost.

As far as home support, Middlesbrough and Leeds are plagued with half empty stadiums even though attendances are rising at Middlesbrough due to their recent success.

Brighton and Derby have the highest home attendances with Derby averaging near 30,000 a game and are quite far ahead of second placed Brighton.

Atmosphere though is important too for this list and even though Derby have the biggest crowds their atmosphere certainly isn't the loudest.

Teams with the highest away attendances and most vocal support tend to have loud homme support as well.

Atmosphere in this league is best at Hillsborough and Elland Road who usually get good away contingents too.

In this list FLW's Michael Hasan assesses the top FIVE loudest home fans in the Championship and what makes it such a good atmosphere.......

Leeds United

leedsssss

The Yorkshire side have always had outstanding support, not only the best in the Championship but amongst the best in the country.

Their away support is the best in the Football League in numbers and vocally and even though the home crowds have dropped from the glory days in the Premier League, it can still present a hostile atmosphere to away teams and fans.

Renowned for their vocals, the Elland Road faithful continue to create plenty of noise despite the difficult plight of the club who sit in the bottom half of the Championship and are owned by the controversial Massimo Cellino.

This holds a candle to the loyalty of there fans that they still show up every week and make plenty of noise to roar there side on.

Sheffield Wednesday

Another one of the biggest sides in the Championship are Sheffield Wednesday, who also have one of the largest away supports in the country who are also amongst the most vocal.

Hillsborough is an old historic stadium which still sees good attendances from the Wednesday faithful, who have seen their side have one of the best seasons in a long time.

They sit in the play-offs still and under the leadership of Chansiri the club is looking full of hope again, and fans are latching on to this and crowds are increasing as is the noise.

Burnley

Turf Moor is the home of Burnley who are a well supported club nearly selling out every week.

They currently sit top of the Championship and this is why the fans are coming every week.

Especially when they play Blackburn the crowd is very vocal, and even though there away support is average the home support is amongst the most vocal.

Given their recent Premier League success, this may explain why the attendances are improving at Turf Moor and the atmosphere is loud as they look for an immediate Premier League return.

Middlesbrough

MiddlesbroughMiddlesbrough

Atmosphere at the Riverside has been poor in the last few seasons but with the club's success in the Championship over the last couple of seasons, the attendances are building again.

They have the third highest home attendance average and with the noisy Red Faction it is now very rare for the stadium to be quiet.

Whilst the drum can be annoying they are also quite vocal in what is a bit of a lifeless bowl of a stadium.

Attendances will surely increase as they close in on promotion this season currently sitting in second place with 12 games remaining.

Wolves

The famous south bank at Molineux is one of the loudest stands in the Championship, and was rocking last year when they were challenging for the play-offs.

It also made plenty of noise when they were a Premier League side, and even though they are struggling this season to replicate what they did last season the attendances are still good.

Wolves are one of the biggest side in the Championship and just get the nod over Midlands rivals Birmingham for this spot.
