Sky Bet League Two is filled with clubs that have varying levels of home support.

There are definitely several teams who currently occupy the league with tremendous support.

At the bottom of the Football League pyramid, League Two fans could been forgiven for not travelling hundreds of miles on a cold Tuesday night in the middle of January.

But, as we have seen this season, there are numerous teams who challenge the stereotype of 'a man and his dog' going to watch their local side.

In recent years, League Two football has succumbed to a much more attractive style of football. You only have to look as far as teams such as Northampton and Accrington Stanley that typify the passing style of football we all enjoy to watch.

As a result, fans have turned out in their masses so far this season and are louder than ever!

Portsmouth

Unsurprisingly, Pompey have the largest average attendance in Sky Bet League 2 at home this season.

Fratton Park can hold up to 21,100 when fully capacitated and therefore make the place a tough place to come and get any sort of result for opposition teams.

This is shown in their home form this season whereby they have only lost three league games at home so far this campaign.

With an average home attendance of 16,194, Pompey are the disputed biggest followers in League Two. But, who would expect anything less from the ex-Premier League outfit?

Pompey have been on an impressive run this season and are right in the mix for promotion. Perhaps a loud southern crowd could spur them on as they attempt to climb their way back up through the leagues.

Luton Town

The Hatters have always been renowned for their loyal fan base - no matter what league they sit in.

Now enjoying their second season back in the Football League after a five year absence, their fans are turning up every week in the hope they can encourage their team to another promotion - this time to Sky Bet League One.

Luton have an average home attendance of 8,348 so far this season - the third highest in the league. And, with Kenilworth Road just over 10,000 in full capacity, the fans near-enough full in the ground every week.

Just three points off the play-off places, Luton fans may just fancy their chances of a promotion push with just nine games remaining for Nathan Jones' side.

One thing is for sure, there will be no need for the players to encourage their loyal fans who have one of the best home following in the league.

Bristol Rovers

The Gas have had a great season after their immediate return to the Football League and fans down at the Memorial Stadium have shown their excitement with the fourth highest home attendance in the league - that's 7,541 to be exact.

In February, the west-country side were taken over by the Al Qadi family whose worth stands at over £3bn with them expressing immediate interest to build the proposed UWE Stadium within the next few years.

The all-seated stadium will be at least 20,000 in capacity which proposes exciting times ahead for Gasheads. The question is, will they be in League 2 when the stadium is built?

Like Pompey and Luton, Rovers are in with a great chance of reaching League 1 next season. They sit level on points with Pompey in fourth and will be looking to their fans to support them as they attempt to narrow that six point gap between themselves and Plymouth in the final automatic promotion place.

Gasheads have been notoriously loyal to their side, you only have to look as far as last season's attendances in the Vanarama Conference to prove that. They, along with Grimsby Town, helped break the Conference play-off final record with 47,029 fans filling out Wembley Stadium.

Plymouth Argyle

The South-Devon side are one of the most loyally followed both at home and away.

But it's their home crowds that are most impressive with the second highest following in the league.

But, of course, statistics count for nothing if you don't make any noise. You've got to look as far as the Premier League for that - discounting the few noisy fans in the top league.

Plymouth are proof that attendances week-in-week out do in fact lift their side up and make sure they have Home Park rocking every home game.

The raucousness of the Argyle faithful definitely rubs off on the players as they are sitting in third place in Sky Bet League 2 - 6 points amid any chance of slipping out of the automatic promotion places.

York City

York City

Under the guidance of Jamie McNamara, York have struggled to pull away of a relegation battle this season with them sitting dangerously in 23rd - potentially 8 points off of safety if Hartlepool win their 3 games in hand.

Nevertheless, The Minstermen have admirable support behind them as they look to sustain their Football League status this season.

They might not have the largest support in numbers, but they certainly make up for it in voice. Something that a lot of football players would dream to play in front of when results are not going your way.
