The Sky Bet Championship is one of the best attended divisions in the whole of Europe, and supporters are often the most dedicated and vocal set of people associated to a football club.

Supporters are one of the most passionate people in society as they turn up their thousands every week to witness their beloved clubs.

There is nothing better when step inside a stadium when the vibe of thousands of fans are chanting and jumping raises the hairs on the back of your neck.

They pay hundreds of pounds every year on accessories such as tickets and souvenirs, and some even go that bit extra to follow their team around the country for miles on trips to different stadiums to watch their side.

Supporters often try to compete with eachother to see who are the loudest set of fans. Players feel upbeat when they can hear the powerful vocals soaring from their fans that silence the rest of the stadium.

In the opinion of Football League World Writer, Ashley Williams has analysed FIVE of the Championship’s loudest supporters this season.......

Leeds United

For a side that has had nothing really to shout about on the pitch this season, their fans are an opinionated bunch and always come in their thousands to bark away.

Leeds’s rich heritage of fans has never died out since they dropped out of the Premier League back in 2004.

You always know that whenever Leeds United are in town, it is always worth attending to absorb the atmosphere from the Yorkshire supporters.

Leeds have the biggest average away attendance so far this season bringing 6297 supporters to MK Dons earlier in the season and have been voted for the past five years the best travelled side in the Championship.

Cardiff City

The Bluebirds supporters have a passionate fan base, and always put in a major amount of effort to make their presence known when they play away from The Cardiff City Stadium.

The Welsh fans took over 1,500 supporters to Ashton Gate at the weekend in their 2-0 victory over Bristol City.

They took full advantage of the dull atmosphere inside the ground as they sang loud and proud in the Severnside derby.

The Cardiff fans have always been known for their buoyant supporters all over the country and certainly are a strong claim for the loudest set of supporters in the division.

Middlesbrough

There has been a lot of talk of late about travelling fans and rightly so, the Boro fans now have minibus hires on speed dial.

No-one wants to miss a moment of Boro’s best chance of promotion this season.

Since the New Year, Boro have taken big crowds to away game and the fans don’t just come for a modest day out.

They have been known to sing their hearts out this season that has been helped Aitor Karanka’s side become so successful.

Sheffield Wednesday

Hillsborough is known to be one of the best atmospheric grounds in the country, but the Owls fans have really benefited from their traveling support getting behind them in their race for the top six.

More than 5,000 made the trip to Preston North End a few weeks ago and the fans certainly made Deepdale their own.

The Wednesday supporters have been deafening this season and it always gives the players an extra push to not disappoint.

Birmingham City

Birmingham CityBirmingham City

The Bluenose away followers know how to get the decibel levels going off the scale as they been in full voice in their away games this season.

Likewise to Wednesday, the fans have been with the club every step of the way in their push for promotion, and have certainly been their 12th man on the pitch for them in the current campaign.

The Birmingham supporters have been a breathe of fresh air with their away support this season and certainly should be considered for the loudest away support.
