For every great looking home shirt, there is always a shocking away shirt.

But for every shocking home shirt, there is definitely always a surprise away shirt to put it to shame.

This is the case across world football, where we see some absolutely brilliant shirts over in foreign leagues like Japan and Mexico, real eye catchers.

Things don’t always quite reach those levels over in England, and we are lucky that in the majority our kits are always pretty smart looking and not too daring.

In League One, this is no different; we now see some cracking kits on display week in week out.

Here at FLW, in the opinion of writer Lee Connor, we take a look at FIVE of the best away shirts in League One.......

Bradford City

As well as having a nice looking home shirt this season, the Bantams also have one of the smartest looking away shirts in the league as well.

All black from head to toe, the full kit really is a delight to behold.

Many Bradford fans are not keen on the home shirt (I disagree), but the away shirt is non debatable really, with everyone more or less in agreement it is a classy looking kit.

Blackpool

blackpool

The Blackpool home shirt is nothing special, but the away shirt is actually really quite nice.

A rich deep blue colour with Orange pin stripes and matching Orange trim, it is a pleasant sight to feast your eyes on.

Blackpool fans will be delighted with this season’s choice of away attire, and will be hoping that they can follow it up next season with something similar, or even keep the same kit.

Chesterfield

Chesterfield

Chesterfield’s away shirt is the polar opposite of the home shirt, with the club opting for a bright all red strip to compliment the blue home shirt.

It does adopt a bit of a standard Puma template, but fans cannot really debate that the shirt looks very impressive.

The club are currently in a relegation battle, and will be hoping they can at least show off their attire in League One next season.

Coventry City

Coventry can boast of both their kits looking the part this season, but the red and black away one is the pick of the two.

It boasts a separate sponsor to the home shirt, which in its own way works really well, and the black trim under the arms and on the shoulders is a nice touch.

White shorts always go well with a red shirt, and the red socks matching the shirt are just the icing on the cake for a delightful looking shirt.

Fleetwood Town

The Fleetwood away shirt is a bit different to some of the other jerseys in the league, and it makes for a refreshing change.

The yellow with blue on the shoulders somehow works to look really well, and is not too far away from those shirts worn by some of Europe’s finest teams.

The home shirt is nothing to shout home about, but the away kid for the Cod Army is something they can be proud of for sure.

League One fans, do you agree with these? What is your favourite away kit in the league? Let us know using the comments!!
