Rushian Hepburn-Murphy got his Tranmere career off to a rather controversial start this weekend with a late red card at home against Rochdale.

He came on as a second half substitute with his side trailing 1-0 thanks to Ian Henderson's penalty. As they entered the dying minutes of the game, Dale had added two more to leave Mickey Mellon's side staring a thumping in the face.

They pulled two goals back, a bizarre Stephen Dooley own goal quickly added to by Connor Jennings' close-range strike. In their eagerness to get the ball back for an unlikely third, a small scuffle broke out.

Hepburn-Murphy was heavily involved, throwing Dale's MJ Willimas to the floor. That resulted in a straight red card for the on loan Villa man.

Fans of the Premier League side were quick to jump on the young player's indiscretion, some wondering how a burly League One defender can be so easily thrown to the floor by a 20-year-old forward.

Others were keen to have their say on a bad start to his League One career, with one poster wondering if he's been watching too much of the Birmingham-based show 'Peaky Blinders'.
