Nottingham Forest entered the season as one of the favourites for promotion before a ball was kicked.

Under the management of Aitor Karanka, Forest seemed to be finally ready to bring the good times back to the City Ground after a disappointing decade.

It was not to be for Karanka, who parted company with the club over the Christmas period, leaving Martin O’Neill to take over.

There have been a couple of excellent performers for Forest, especially during their months of form in the autumn period, but some have been poor.

We discuss who has been their most disappointing player this season…

Jacob Potter

"Daryl Murphy without a shadow of a doubt.

"Yes, he hasn't been a regular stater for Forest but as a striker you need to be scoring goals when you are in the side, and he hasn't been doing that.

"I'm surprised that Forest haven't signed a back up striker to challenge Lewis Grabban as Murphy isn't a good enough option to call upon when needed."

Gary Hutchinson

"Where do you start. I haven’t rated Soudani one bit when he's been fit, he was never going to settle.

"Dias promised so much and delivered so little.

"Then there’s Ben Watson, immense last season but woeful this time out.

"There’s too many to mention!"

Louie Chandler

"I'll opt for Carvalho.

"It is not really his fault, but when you are signed for such a large transfer fee expectations are going to be high.

"He has looked unbelievable at times and there is clearly a decent player in there, but he is yet to show it regularly enough."
