‘Too lightweight’, ‘Ghost’ – Many Ipswich Town fans react to midfielder’s display

Many Ipswich Town fans have taken to Twitter to react to Andre Dozzell’s latest performance for the club during their 1-0 defeat to Fleetwood Town in League One.

The midfielder, who is a product of the club’s youth academy, was handed the opportunity to prove himself in last night’s clash with the Trawlermen by Tractor Boys manager Paul Lambert.

However, instead of leading his side to a much-needed victory at Portman Road, Dozzell produced a mixed display in-front of his own supporters.

Whilst the 20-year-old did illustrate some signs of promise against Fleetwood, he couldn’t prevent Ipswich from slipping to yet another damaging defeat in the third-tier.

Ched Evans scored what turned to be the only goal of the game in the 40th minute for the Trawlermen as he latched onto a pass from Barrie McKay before firing past goalkeeper Tomas Holy.

Following the break, Freddie Sears went close to levelling up proceedings for Ipswich as his effort was deflected over the crossbar.

Jon Nolan and Tyreece Campbell were then both denied by Fleetwood shot-stopper Alex Cairns as the visitors held on to seal all three-points.
