Sunderland midfielder Max Power has been a key man for the Black Cats this season but it appears he is a divisive figure among fans of the North East club.

The central midfielder has made 38 appearances for Sunderland this term and regularly worn the captain's armband, following George Honeyman's exit in the summer.

Power has been ever-present in what has been a rollercoaster of a season for the Black Cats.

The North East club replaced Jack Ross with Phil Parkinson in October and following a very shaky start, were competing near the top of the League One table before a four-game winless run meant they headed into the EFL delay in seventh.

Sunderland have made their stance on finishing the season on the pitch very clear and you feel Power will have a key role to play in Parkinson's men's promotion push, should League One resume.

Power has been at the club since August 2018 and signed permanently in January 2019 but despite making 84 appearances for the Black Cats, does not seem to have convinced the whole of the Stadium of Light faithful yet.

Many Sunderland fans have taken to Twitter to debate the midfielder's quality.
