Aston Villa

Too close to split? Would Wolves and Aston Villa consider trading this in-form pair?

There’s been plenty to shout about for fans of Midlands football clubs this season in the Championship.

Though Birmingham City have not had the best campaign both Wolves and Aston Villa have been flying the flag brilliantly with them both looking strong to return to the Premier League.

Indeed, Wolves are the run-away leaders whilst Villa are the current form side and both have seen a number of their stars perform superbly during this campaign.

In our latest FLW Duels piece, then, it’s time to compare Ivan Cavaleiro and Albert Adomah and their stats for the year so far.

Both wingers have been absolutely brilliant this season.

Cavaleiro has perhaps surprised some in the way he has kept his place in the side despite the wealth of attacking options the club has but, in fairness, he’s produced the numbers that warrant him staying there.

Adomah, meanwhile, is enjoying one of his best campaigns with an impressive 14 goals from out wide and a further three assists.

Both, then, have contributed 17 goals to their sides this season whilst it’s also very hard to split the pair in terms of their passing and dribbling stats too.

Ultimately, Cavaleiro has more in his favour just about in this particular head-to-head but it’s certainly a close run thing and if you asked either set of fans whether they’d trade, the answer would probably be ‘no’.
