Tony Pulis is rumoured to be hunting former Derby County striker Aleksandar Prijovic as the answer to his striking woes, according to a report from Team Talk.

The 28-year old was once upon a time on the books at Pride Park, but didn't make a senior appearance and spent two shorts spells on loan with Yeovil and Northampton.

Since then he's played for Sion, Boluspor and Djurgardens to name but a few, with his current employers being Greek Super League side PAOK.

He's in decent form for them, scoring in the Europa League this season as well as representing Serbia in the Nations League. He's a big lad, 6ft 3in tall and would suit the style of football Boro play.

Would this be a wise move for Pulis? Should the player, having failed once in England, be targeted given that he has a point to prove?

Our FLW experts discuss.

He's not needed with all of their current options.

There's no denying that Prijovic has the quality to perform to a high standard in the Championship, but would he get in ahead of Boro's current striking options? I think not.

Britt Assombalonga and Martin Braithwaite are better options to have.

Pulis clearly feels the need for something different in attack and it seems things are going to be changing in the January window.

If Prijovic is the player he wants, he needs to go and get him.

It’s clear he isn’t a fan of what he inherited from Garry Monk, so it’s best to grant the manager’s wish.

If the likes of Britt Assombalonga and Martin Braithwaite aren't what Pulis wants then I'm not sure what he's looking for.

They've got goals, ability, pace and experience.

But sure, why not go and grab a lad from Greece with no experience of first team Championship football.

Tony Pulis baffles me I'm afraid.
